No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

8:30am

I set out to see how many laps around Oakbrook I could do at 9:00 min pace. It just seemed way to easy at that pace so I did 8ish instead, I was sure I could still do at least 5 until I got about half way through the 4th. I thought about slowing down and doing the 5th one, but decided to stop instead and give my legs a rest. Next week I'm going to try keeping a steady 8:30 pace from the start and see if the 5th or maybe 6th lap seems like a better idea.

I ran to the Tacoma Runners event tonight and found a $10 and a $20 along the way. That's almost $3 per mile and was more than enough to pay for post-run hydration at Magoo's Annex.

6:30pm
I planned to just keep the leaders in sight so I wouldn't get lost on the route and ended up running a lot faster than I intended, as usual. I got a ride home with John and Scott who met me there for the 3 miler. Great time as always, and Susan brought lemon bars again!
